It's easy to romanticize art when you can readily call yourself a starving artist. But for people in the social sciences or who have a more interdisciplinary type of mind-set, or people who fondly admit that their life calling is "research", no romantic jargon can be put in context. Basically, we're just starving. We are the starving mid-twenty-somethings who are also struggling for a bit of recognition in our small and more macro circles. We are those who have a bit of utopia in our heads, who like to daydream for a better world, but who wake up grounded in the realities of cost-of-living, success-brought-about-by-money, and corporate-jobs-that-kill-your-soul-but-you-look-good-doing-it-anyways.
But,
They say tsunami baby waves hit the eastern part of the country. I'm a little comforted by having re-read my life consistently.
